Grown in our original vineyard in the District of Oak Knoll, this delightful single vineyard bottling of Sauvignon Blanc offers a springy balance of refreshing citrus and pure minerality. The Stoll vineyard was re-planted to vine in 2015 and sits in the famed alluvial fan at the cool southern end of the Napa Valley. The well drained silty clay loam soils in this AVA are cooled by lingering fog from the San Pablo bay this allowing the grape clusters to develop good structure while tempering the searing heat of summer. The vineyard is methodically managed by grower Brad Stoll as each row is scrutinized and tended by hand. In 2023 bud break occurred a bit later than typical due to the cool wet El Nino winter. Bud break began April 12th just beyond reach of spring's shatter risk. The season warmed gradually and steadily advantageous for even ripening. Yields were significantly lower than expected across the valley. Low yields concentrate the flavor and pulp density resulting in rich redolent fruit. Hand harvested. Fermented in stainless then sur lie in French Oak for 6 months. Bottle aged 6 months prior to release. Natural Lafitte cork closure.
