2018 “Veneration” Red Blend – NEW RELEASE OCTOBER 1st
Out of stock
The 2018 “VENERATION” is our singular proprietary red blend. This wine is an homage to Petite’s noble lineage and heritage. It is however, intrinsically all-American and produced from Petite Sirah and Syrah grapes grown in our vineyards in the Napa Valley.
This wine reunites the American Heritage varietal we are known for along with its Father, the noble Syrah from the land of Rhone. The grapes which contributed to this dynamic wine were grown on our best vineyard sites. The Petite Sirah hails from the famed Carpy Connolly Ranch in the Rutherford AVA and the Syrah is from a stellar vineyard planted upon the sloping base of the Mayacamas in Los Carneros. Unique to this vintage, the blend includes a kiss of Sauvignon Blanc intended to elevate the aromatics upon first impression.
Our wines are hand harvested, hand sorted then immediately analyzed by state of the art Selectiv’ optical sort to ensure just those of optimum quality make it into the wine. Each varietal was fermented independent of each other on native yeasts then blended just before bottling. The wine was barrel aged for 18 months in 1 and 2 year old Hungarian and French oak then bottled ufiltered and un-fined. Specifically designed as a fruit forward ensemble, the finished wine reflects a softer style of a Petite based blend wine and enables us to bring it to market a bit younger than our single vineyard wines.
Notable news, this wine recently received “Best in Class”,”Double Gold Medal” and awarded 97 points from the Sunset Magazine International Wine Competition. (October 2021 )
The Veneration honors the Patriarch Syrah in a style that expresses its elegant noble roots and Napa Valley’s complex terroir.
