2017 American Fine Wine Competition Awards Double Gold to Aratas Petite

Double Gold Award Aratas Petite Sirah

The results of the 2017 American Fine Wine Awards (AFWA) held at the FIU Chaplin School of Hospitality Management.

The AFWA recognized Aratas Wine with a " Double Gold Medal", for the 2012 Shake Ridge Ranch Petite Sirah and a "Gold" Medal for the inaugural vintage of Aratas 'Carneros' Chardonnay. Vintners, Stephanie Douglas and John Chohany, on behalf of Aratas Wine received one of the AFWC top awards recognizing American Heritage Petite Sirah.

This curated  "invitation-only" event led by Executive Director Shari Gherman awards top honors to producers deemed to be outstanding producers in their field of winemaking. The 10th annual post competition Gala featured the winning wines and their winemakers and was held in spectacular form Ft Lauderdale FL on April 28th. The grand auction, attended by 600 generous patrons, benefited the Miami Dolphins Charitable Foundation in 2017 along with other charities in need throughout southeastern Florida.
