2009 ARATAS Petite Sirah NV Release date March 1st, 2012
2008 ARATAS Petite Sirah NV
The premier vintage 2008 Aratas makes its debut as an affluent power house embedded with dark fruit reminiscent of blackberry cobbler and a warm blueberry pop tart. After its first breath from the bottle, it reveals the essence of a maraschino cherry left to steep at the bottom of a Manhattan and the aroma of apple wood bacon and dark chocolate.
Napa Valley’s alluvial loam accentuates notes of cardamom spice, white pepper and vanilla bean. This Petite Sirah owes its inky extraction to the voluptuous skin to juice ratio granting the wine a plush tannic structure that will soften gracefully for 17-20 years.
Aratas is a hearty companion for a marbled rib eye charred with a Montreal rub, buffalo meatloaf with caramelized onions and smoked meats just dripping with BBQ sauce.

Captivating, with rich, gooey blackberry cobbler flavors that are thickly tannic and wonderfully spicy, intense and powerful, with a wonderful chew. Features hints of black licorice on the long finish. Drink now through 2019.—M.W.]
